Mark,
Interesting about the Cleveland loft. I've misplaced my reference, but
Ping acknowledged that they purposefully mark the soles of their
drivers with stronger lofts than they actually are. The realize that
many of their male customer's egos would get in the way of getting a
good fit.

Tom,
I had a similar thing happen to me a few months ago, I had a Wishon 915 CFE, 420cc, 12 degree in the bag for over 2 years, fantastic club, every new driver came out I'd try and none ever impressed me enough to consider changing. A member of my regular saturday foursome came with a new driver,
Sorry to hear about Mr. Taylor. I never had the pleasure of meeting the
man but I have enjoyed and learned from his comments on Shoptalk over these
last few years. He will be missed.
So sorry to hear that The Admiral passed away. He was a beacon of
reasonableness and good humor, as well as a fount of experience, for as
long as I've been on ShopTalk.

We use shafts made to our specs by Rapport ( much wider frequency range
then standard). They are specified to be 3* or less torque and high flex
point over the full frequency range. If you Fit the shaft properly, to be
back to straight at impact, the high flex point gives the best performanc
Remember to install with logo at 3 oclock (or the yellow line on the
butt at 9 o'clock) for AJ's.

I've got one of the "official" end caps. Send me a note with your
address and I'll pop one in an envelope for you.
It's a fantastic shaft. What are you installing it in??

Use one of those cap style wine corks, the one's
that twist in. Or a
champagne cork shaped and trimmed to fit. Or look

Which shafts Lloyd. This method does not seem to take under consideration
the tip stiffness nor the torque(sorry Dave T not the proper term but now
accepted in the golf industry). If you stay within the same shaft company
maybe but not if you use 15 different shafts from 15 different shaft

If you are interested in what happens to the club after impact Profiling
might help. Butt clamped frequencies describe the first mode of vibration
for the cantilever beam which is the way the golf club reacts up to impact.
Having said that the 5" clamp length currently used by most club makers
Hi Tom,
I've hit one of the Cobra's. As I recall, it feels like it has a
tremendous trampoline-rebound effect when hit on center. I also agree
with Andre that the head hits on a much higher trajectory than it's
stated loft and that the shafts are much softer than their stated flex.
I hit a 10 o
Lloyd. If I understand correctly you are basically saying that shaft
profiling is useless and that butt frequency is the only answer. Do you have
any data regarding your statement below i.e robotic testing and so forth.
André.
