Tom,
Hotmail. That's why your e-mail gets deleted on my computer. I was getting so
much spam and harassment on Hotmail that I blocked it. Charter is the worst
high speed internet service in the country and doesn't care what goes through,
nor has enough servers here to handle the traffic . But,
I called Cleveland Golf today. The rep there insists that the specs quoted are
accurate but he wouldn't tell me what tha shaft maker's name is - seems to me
it was Graftech. He also said the grip is a Tour Velvet Lite. The guy said
Cleveland's making the club primarily for the Japanese market b
No clue. I'm using Hotmail. You're the first to mention it. I get stuff in the
"Junk" box AND in the Inbox from John Muir and a couple others. Odd.

Tom,
For some strange reason, all your e-mails are going directly to my Deleted
Items. Don't know why, because you aren't on my blocked sender list. All the
other in-coming Shoptalk e-mail goes to my Shoptalk folder in my Inbox.

Howdy Bub;
I built about a dozen versions of long drivers since you started this topic -
how long ago? And before, too. But "before" I was using steel shafts at 44.5"
on wood heads. I had one laminated head in which i drilled a honeycomb under
the sold plate to remove weight. I never got it to
I recently asked a friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows
up. She said she wanted to be President some day. Both of her parents, liberal
Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what
would be the first thing you would do? '
She replied, '
I have been using the Hireko Powerflex 501 Filament wound R/S at $9.95 and the
Powerflex FW114 for A/L. Need to spline align the FW114 for sure, but at $5.95
each for iron or wood, one of the best deals out there. The only problem is
that there are a heavy shaft 86g for the 501 & 100g for the F
Don't be so sure it isn't closer to 50g. You can't go by the labeling. They
lie. I've pulled ultralight wood shafts that weighed more cut than the
graphics labels said. Shaft weights have become another marketing lie in the
OEM side. The head weight is gonna be the key to this project.

Some of the driver heads that use weight screws will come in in the 180s with
no screws. You'd need to epoxy something over the holes. You might be better
off buying the darn club though. You'll probably spend more than 250 trying to
find the combo that works.
