Is 250 deg. F the point that the epoxy breaks down, the head
won't burn and the shaft won't melt? The meltdown point
seems to be pretty close as it seems all hell breaks loose (with the
head and shaft) very quickly.

If a person has a good head pusher, and has applied
serious force to the head while heating, the head will pop off as soon as the
epoxy bond breaks. What else could you need? Hell, if you want know the temp of
the hoseltouch it with an oven thermometer

That heat monitoring strip might be good undertheheat lights
you use for quick-drying and strengthening24-hour epoxy. Max strength of
GS stuff is at 150°F, so when the edge of the strip turns color, you're

Yup, or very close for shafting epoxy. For some reason 248 rings a
bell but I am sure it varies with different epoxies. But agree with
TFlan. Who really cares what the outside temp is? You are
pulling/pushing the head. Whenever the epoxy breaks down, the head
comes off.
