I am going to ride hard the win-win roller-coaster of entrepreneurship
(you win you learn, you lose you learn)...and I will also get MUCH
better at surfing! :)Arribaa will be a massive viral hit, both guides
and travelers will see the light-bulb moment, realize people travel is
better and far more
Not sure how much this will help you out with this process, but I find this
video incredibly insightful and helpful when trying to understand how to
motivate people: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6XAPnuFjJc
Sometimes it is a whole paradigm shift that you need, not a bit more money?

Very true. I've heard stories of people surfing Facebook for the last week of
the month because winning more contracts wouldn't earn them any more cash.

Yeah,
Indonesia is strangely off the radar in Australia and yet it's one
place that is really pulling ahead.
For example, Qantas shares are plummeting and have sunk to
around $1.50 from $3.20 in about two years.
However, just across the water on the borders for which-we-should-
not-go, there are
Hey Ben,
I used http://www.a-acar.com when Enterprise raised their insurance rates.
The guy runs it out of a trailer next to a mechanic garage, but don't let
that turn you off. His cars are ok - I go an early 2000s Camry which ran
fine. The airconditioning wouldn't cool, but overall no complaints.
Cool, even better!
just remembered I've briefly met Nathan from topguest as well

Jindou,
I use to run enterprise sales for Salesforce.com in Australia and have
seen quite a few models in their customer base and of course their
own, from which I have drawn the following conclusions which you might
want to throw in the mix:
1) Salespeople will do exactly what you pay them to do

I've no experience in motivating salespeople, but keep in mind the old adage:
"Tell me how you'll measure me and I'll tell you how I behave". You need to put
yourself in the shoes of a shrewd salesperson
Insurance isn't a bigger deal for rentals in the US because apparently
majority of Americans have insurance coverage by way of their personal
car insurance and many US issued credit cards provide some insurance,
hence if you're from Australia you need the full load of insurance.

If it's much like Melbourne, then they are in demand, and it may be tricky
to fill a role depending on what/where you are, and the rates you're
paying. Rails devs have a lot of options at the moment.
(I'm a RoR guy, and I hire RoR guys at my day job, so have seen both sides
of it).
A good place t
Congratulations to you as well Tim. Great to see.

Hello.
I'm going to move to Silicon Valley to grow the business.
Happy Inspector will hit 1000 customers and then funded (preferably in
that order).
With Adelaide, it'll grow so big it will be considered part of Sydney.
lol. Techstars to hit Adelaide.
Australia will continue to have more successfu
Dan,
I had more of a think and you are right, the trailing income thing
just does not work!
I like the concept of commission sliding down as the user retention is
increased.
Just wondering how do you track all the sales commission etc? Is it
built into your system? Or do you use another service?
Thanks Andrew,
It's a list I definitely need to know. I'll start getting familiar
with them straight away.
And I can't wait to move to the Valley!!
