It needs a very SMALL amount of chlorine to burn off all the dead critters
killed by the silver. Not enough to make much silver chloride

Hi all,
I've been looking at some ionizers for swimming pools. The majority of
sites say that some chlorine is still needed weekly. It would seem to me
that the chlorine and silver would make some silver chloride. Please
correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that silver chloide was

Looks like there are additional reasons to beware the pool:

Agreed on the algae effectiveness of copper...wonder if it works bet
I spoke with them. The reason they seemed to be negative on silver was that in
sunlight it tends to give the pool argyria. It is true that copper is a better
algacide than silver, and that is the main thing you have to fight. The ozone,
H2O2 generation will do a good job of killing pathogens, and

It does bubble off after some time.

We have about decided to go with this unit. They have literature coming to
us. I talked to one of their engineers today, and if it does what they say,
it sounds great.

Marshall,
I would very much like to hear your ideas on accomplishing this. Do you
plan on keeping a generator in the pool?
A neighbor recently showed me an advertisement for something you insert
into the middle of a paper filter that is supposed to produce ozone.
I'll ask to look at it again. I
