I have one implant. The post is titanium. The bone does grow around it
and closes up any gaps, you can see this in x-rays of my implant from
the first one the day it was put in, to later ones taken to check bone
growth progress. The crown (artificial tooth) isn't put on until the
post is solid
I don't see that the metal posts required for dental implants can be
much better than fillings or crowns...
