the new sipX machine's AA seems to be working fine (hopefully it would stay
that way). We'll just be reinstalling sipX on the previous box. thnx.

I have a problem w/ calls from pstn not being able to go through to a
user extension. It will get to the operator/AA/ext 100 just fine but after
dialling a user extension (as per the AA's instruction) the AA says it will
be transferring but nothing happens...it just stays silent for around 10

You go to the server, choose configure, and enable only the roles you need.
If you have a PSTN only connection, you do not need SIP trunking enabled. I
think this was mentioned to you before.
Realize 4.1.7 is develoipment code and may not be upgradeable to 4.2 either.

We have recently created a two server cluster and we are using an unmanaged
gateway that points to a voice gateway router. Previously, we used the
sipXbridge to point to the same voice gateway and everything worked

Hi there, any of you folks integrate voice recognition / speech
directory service with auto attendant into the sipxecs environment?
Any suggestions?

I've never found a wifi phone worth a hoot and own an assortment. They sit
in a box and I settled on a Snom m3 (dect, wifi friendly) which has superior
battery life due to the power needs of dect. I also employ two of the dect
repeaters and use it solely as a companion to a desk phone.
May I recommend NOT sharing that? It's piracy.

This is why I always make users record their names. While this would be
a nice feature, don't count on it. There may be a feature request in the

Can someone explain the difference between a SIP Trunk with an Unmanaged SBC

supposed to be configured?

Well, sounds like DECT beats 802.11. The price of the KIRK 300 is OK,
but 4 simultaneous calls is too low. If I have multiple base units,
can the phones roam between them?

If you want a larger system that can handle more phones/calls you can
look at some of Polycom's other wireless models. The buck does not stop
at the 300 series.
