You should have SRV records for XMPP _xmpp-client._tcp 20 0 5222 yoursipxhostname (Simply follow the same syntax for your sipx zone file in DNS. Instead of _sip._udp you are putting in _xmpp-client._tcp and instead of 5060, you are using 5222. If this is already done, then follow the pidgin setup
