These are configuration files. If you want to clear this directory then
copy these files to another location and remove them from this directory.
The sources.list.d directory is almost always PPA's the user has added.
There are no configuration files in there.

be the problem, no idea.
I have seen a linux appliance that wouldn't work after being dd'd
because the mac address changed and the ethernet device
became eth1, and the appliance had hard coded eth0 in it.
I can't see how that would matter in this scenario, but thought
I would mention it.

that - it just wouldn't even see the disk as a valid boot device.
It's just strange - I can't understand why it would boot off the
disk' in one device but not the other when they are otherwise
identical.

/flashdrive. It might be something like /run/media/user/flashdriveid

Receive message:

Firewalled client IP at the hosting provider was indeed the problem.
Something kicked off the intrusion prevention.
I've made them whitelist the IP.

no no, I just posted it for the archives
setting to E1000 but still has the same issue. After changing to E1000, RX
errors was gone but throughput is still below 10mbps.
Any suggestions to fix the network throughput.

is fine. However NetBeans IDE 8.0 is so
slow as to be unusable. Eclipse is totally out of the question.
Mail reader works, Libre Office is okay, GIMP is fine.
Anybody got ideas as to where to start debugging this??
