I just went to the site and figured out what trilerons are. Looks like a
good way to clean up drag. Has anybody tried something similar at the root
end of an aileron? I suppose the throw would be too much for use on flaps
or flaperons, but a few linked sections might work.

In other words, the roll rate decreases as the TE sweep increases.
I don't know the mechanics behind this, I have only observed it.
