[RCSE] Servos for flaps

2001-03-17 Thread Charles Thompson
Could anyone please give me an idea as to what loads are experienced by flap servos. I have currently a 3.5 meter glass fuz, foam and balsa wing, T tail sailplane which has the flaps driven by a standard servo in the fuz. The torque rod linkage to the bottom hinged flaps is far to sloppy and I

2001-03-17 Thread Tom H.Nagel
It is winter time. Swap show time, in a city that knows how to keep it's airspeed. Early in February I went to the Lancaster RC Club's swap shop, and there on the sale table was a sexy metallic blue sloper, about a 50" span, of built up balsa and spruce construction. She had a

Matt, Don't get misled by the aileron rumors. I have seen and flown the new Maple Encores and we throw them hard. They are aileron versions. The flutter that I have seen has been on very weakly built ailerons, and the one that was fluttering was actually broken. The reasons they may flutter

[RCSE] 5 cell pack

2001-03-17 Thread glidn
Just soldered up and charged a 5 cell 1400 flight pack. Took a no load voltage reading of 6.78 volts. Is that kind of high? I have already used it in my new plane for set up and every thing seems to work just fine but will that high of a voltage cause problems after longer term use? Thanks
