Somewhere on the net I saw an article about using flashlight diodes on a
solenoid because you can see them in daylight.
It also gave a rule of thumb on resistor needed based on the draw (ma) of
the diode.
I think I blew out one of my diode due to reverse impulse and want to fix

This thread is great for us old engineering types. Remember all the material

Next challange is to actually plot load deflection curves remembering that
this stuff is probably very rate sensitive ;^).
Ever want an Instron in your basement? I did.

That's a really cool sailplane... uh airplane...
whatever. ;-) I sat in one at NBAA. Not ready to sell
the Lancair to get one yet, but it's definitely on the
required toys list. You actually need your sailplane
ticket to fly it.

Or an MTS.
Actually, I've had an old creep tester down there for a while.
Right next to the wind tunnel.
Very geeky.
My apologies - it should have been reported as compliance.

If someone is willing to share their flap-elevator mix for the
spoiler on the AVA for a Stylus radio, I'd appreciate that help.
Amount and point 1, point 2 needed. That will save a good bit of
trial and error futzing.

Ok, a few years ago I saw some bags used for slope and foul weather flying.
They were canvas with a window, and flannel inners... Cuffs to put your
hands in and fly.
Keeps hands nice and toasty.
Anyone know who makes them?
If they are no longer made, does anyone on this list own one?

Hello to all.
I recently had the opportunity to spend a month in Albuquerque, NM. I
knew ahead of time I'd be there, so I sent my Encore ahead in a
Sportube via Fed Ex ground. I packed it very well and it arrived in
perfect condition. I had some family obligations that prevented me

I just set up my Topaz on a 9303. I decided to use the ACRO template.
A very dear and old friend, at the risk of losing his family, over a
seriously failing business, is closing his hobby shop.
There are a number of factors involved, to say the least.
The most important, being cheap mail order items.
It has been my experience in the past, to find the ol'hobby shop

Hi Jeff
You might want to consider these gloves. They work great and you don't have
to try and find the hole to stick your hand in to get to the stick after
launch. Plus your finger tips an thumb are still able to grip the fuse for
launch. If it's really cold once you get your plane settled
I have the Mongo Transmitter Mitt, as shown at http://www.fatlion.com/bash/. I
got mine a year ago, so I believe there's a good chance Katie Kauffman ([EMAIL

I couldn't find a link to it, but found this:

Saw one while sloping on the coast just south of San Francisco (the secret
spot). Three or four of us were flying R/C gliders when we caught sight of
this full scale coming up the coast. We all landed to get a better look and
the hang glider guys scattered. Awesome!!
