Make sure you buy reclaimed tungsten. It's a lot cheaper.
I mixed up some clay tungsten by using plasticine heated to liquid state
and adding tungsten until it would just press together. Forms very nicely.
Also, you can use thick Ziploc bags and make any size you want by using a

Selling my backup cross tail Eraser Extreme LT. This has the light weight
wing.
It is equipped with HS 125 servos on the ailerons, JR 368s on the flaps,
Multiplex Micro on the elevator and a HS 81mg for the rudder. Includes Hitec

That should be encouraging, then - DJA says they've recently updated the
Chrysalis, and the spoiler layout was addressed with micro servos...
There was a good review in the AMA mag last month (or 2), might help you
make this decision.
Good luck,

You can use brass, steel, or aluminum tubes and fill the tubes with
tungsten and cap the ends. with ply and epoxy.

Thanks for the response. Several brought up a good point saying after you
mix powder w/epoxy/etc you may not gain much over lead which may be right.
How about opinions on an idea I had. Get some brass tube, silver braze a
brass plate(thin) on to one end, grind it down to the contour of the tube.

I saw somewhere, probably on RC Groups, but I can't seem to find the post
again that someone had sheeted the leading edge of the wing. Anybody else
done that? If so, did you notice any gains (stronger, no flutter, etc) of
that mod?

If you use a press, you'll probably blow the wall of the brass tube.
The walls are pretty thin. .030 if I remember right.

I think that you'll break your press before you compress any tungsten. It's
pretty hard stuff.
Have you checked with CMW in Indianapolis? They are a company that specializes
in tungsten alloys for uses like ballast. You don't really want pure tungsten,
get one of their alloys with a

I'd be interested in the tips if not all. (if a previous buyer doesn't pan

Why part it? missing a center section of wing?
Both my tips are repaired, so would love new tips.

Thanks guys, I guess I should rephrase myself, I would just use the press to
pack it in
tightly, not compress it. The more I think about it Id just seal the end
with some material rather than solder/braze it. Think Ill order just a bit
to try it out
at first.
Thanks,Walter

Tungsten is the hardest pure element material next to diamond (carbon),
and there are few alloys harder than Tungsten Carbides. As it oxidizes
in air, it is usually

Hi,
I'm looking for some horns like what comes with the molded
planes for flaps ailerons.
I have some and I see Hobby Lobby carries them, but they
only have 5/16'' of threads.
I need some that are longer.
Appreciate any info on where to buy some.
Thanks!
