I like 3M clear Book Tape. I find it at our Teachers supply store, not in hard wear type stores. I buy it in a wide roll, then cut it to width with a straight edge and blade. I the cut short pieces and make what I call reverse Z type hinges. I apply 3 or 4 pairs of them on a control surface and

I figured someone would ask. From 3M Book Tape cut two pieces 1/2 wide by 1and1/8 long. Assemble them end to end sticky side toward each other overlapping the ends about 1/4.This depends on the thickness of the control surface at the hinge line. Now make another one identical to the first one.

What's a good hinge to use for torque-rod ailerons? I've been using just tape, but I hate it: it's a bitch to get on correctly, it's ugly, etc. The plans called for regular nylon hinges, but I didn't like that either. Maybe I'm being too picky, but if anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate

Managed to tear both aileron hinges off my Mantis. Surprising since they were kevlar hinged and I didnt really do anything that I thought was worthy of tearing them like they did. I have been using some hinge tape bought from one of the vendors at SWC, cant remember who it was. But the stuff
