I figured someone would ask. From 3M Book Tape cut two pieces 1/2" wide
by 1and1/8" long. Assemble them end to end sticky side toward each other
overlapping the ends about 1/4".This depends on the thickness of the
control surface at the hinge line. Now make another one identical to the
first one

What's a good hinge to use for torque-rod ailerons? I've been using just
tape, but I hate it: it's a bitch to get on correctly, it's ugly, etc.
The plans called for regular nylon hinges, but I didn't like that either.
Maybe I'm being too picky, but if anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate
it.

Managed to tear both aileron hinges off my Mantis. Surprising since they
were kevlar hinged and I didnt really do anything that I thought was worthy
of tearing them like they did. I have been using some hinge tape bought
from one of the vendors at SWC,
cant remember who it was. But the stuff is
