Correction.
The Airtronics Vision does NOT have a lithium battery. It's model storage
uses NVRAM.

A friend ask me the other day when you know to change the lithium
batteryDo you loose your info then?? If this lithium battery goes dead
while your flying ??? What then?? Are JR's the only ones with this
lithium back-up?? TNX Brian

Let's see...

The lithium is only a back up that will kick in when the other power source
(the eight cell battery pack) is dead or removed. I have not tried to change
the battery and have had my 8103 for about five years and have not had any
problems. I did hear about the fuse holder problem and got it repl
Its been said on this thread that NVRAM doesn't require battery backup. As
a slight clarification, this isn't true. NVRAM does require battery
backup, usually only when power isn't applied to the system, circuit
board, etc. EEPROM and Flash memory are the types of memory that don't
require battery
Glen. I got an 8103 a little after they came out and yes they will work with
either the PPM or PCM. You select the signal mode when you set up the
controls for each model you choose to put into the memory. The programing
ladder is very friendly from my experience, unlike some other ladders

You can select PPM or PCM with the 8013. You can use either receiver
and you don't need to change the module to do it. PPM and PCM are both
FM. They just use different techniques to encode the data being sent.

The transmitter can send both signals. The kits that you see advertised include a
receiver. The PPM 8103 includes a PPM receiver, etc.

Can anyone using the JR 8103 tell me weather the Xmttr uses
PP or PC Modulation. I notice that JR lists both PPM receivers and
PCM receivers so there not compatible. Can the transmitters be
purchased either way, as all my receivers are PPM and I wanted to
upgrade to the JR 8103.
