I don't think a lot of weight is saved by using Yellow glue over Hot Stuff.
The yellow glue is strong and is cheaper but is not waterproof, if you get wet.??
The yellow glue is Aliphetic Resin and is called Carpenters wood glue.

glue or my favorite, UHU Hart. CA will wick in more
that you think and you basically use more than you
really need to. Balsa is very porous stuff. That adds
weight and cost. Yellow glue is cheaper to use and
much easier to get off your fingers.
