Run directly back to the top of the rudder and I bet your issue will go away.

I had these problems when I first started boom wrapping transformer
wire on my Mosquito Hawk.
Wrapping reduced range significantly, I ended up doing 2 wrap

I have since seen some erratic flying; hard down when it's headed
directly at me (from a turn, not far out). I've not had the problems at
distance, but more like a quarter mile out, under 500 feet.
