I would like to add a Passport Colorchecker or Datacolor SPyderCube to
that list. ;-)
But it's more or less the same setup as I have.
If you just need backplates, just shoot as much images as possible on
set with lots of overlap.
ICE, Hugin or Kolor Autopano will get you a great stitched

Hi, I recently wrote to the guys at Thinkbox software: Deadline, to get a free
evaluation from them.
I got the software download link, and installed the Repository on my server
machine (which is another normal machine on the network), and the executable
apps (monitor, launcher, slave, etc..) on
What I found helpful is to have for example setup like this:
1st computer: hard drive with letter W: and projects on it
2nd computer: mapped hardrive also to use letter W: but pointing to network
location ie shared drive from 1st computer.
In that case you don;t need to think about all those
btw you dont need to share drive and change letter you can have Folder with
projects in it and share that proejct and then mapp that folder as drive
with letter
ie
d:\Projects on 1st computer
share it on network
map network drive and then map it using same letter on all computers
then working
Thanks Mirko, that´s a great hack. I´ll try it once I get to the office.
I really hope it works. I´ve been pulling my hair out over this the whole week.
Even wrote to the Deadline software guys...
Bests.

I'm consulted for WebGL aplication. I just wanted to rough-up a scene

preview and set some lighting /ambient.
It's completly useless here...

If you used the default *scene output* (mine is set to which might be

and that gives me the output of

and that suggests to me that my project (or scene) was saved

Does anyone have an opinion on the Monoprice 27 IPS Pro monitors?
They are currently on sale for $389.99 at Rakuten.com, which seems like a
steal for an IPS display of that size. It's running 2560x1440.
Here's the link if anyone is interested (I have no affiliation at all with
this):
Whats the color gamut on that one... ? It all seems a bit low budget to
return good results. Plus if it has a glossy screen i would drop it faster

It depends. From native tools, I don't think so. From the SDK, definitely
(assuming you don't want to access a given simulated frame).
The closest native tool I can think about that gives you access to any
frame is the ICE node Get Action Source at Frame. If you can store your

Hi David
You will want to go with the Splashy Water preset , and like Olivier says,
it is quite slow, which is also clear from the stats in those videos.
I made a test a while ago to see what could be achieved and stuck with a
fairly small volume of water as I didn't quite have the patience.

Lagoa's presets are set up with a SI unit of 1 meter in mind, therefore you
will get slo-mo behaviour (maybe they have one-click workflow to max and

will want to multiply your gravity force by 10 to correct that. You will

Okay. Looks like this won't work anyway because the mesh I'm trying

like that.
Gonna have to do this the ol' fashioned way...

You can do some gator surgery:
1. Have an enveloped mesh with just the polygons you need for one area.
2. Have another enveloped mesh with the rest of the polygons.
3. In a third mesh with the topology of both (same points, no seams) but no
envelope, do Gator on it and pick the first two meshes

Hey guys,
I'm aiming to animate the coloring of some meshes and the animators may
load one or more of this model as a reference.
I don't wanna do expressions on materials as that breaks easily, so I've
gone with ICE controlling vertexcolors and reading that in the shader. It
works but it's

Why do you need to color the meshes? Eg; what role/purpose does the coloring
serve? That'll narrow down the response for implementation.
If you're using ref models, consider passes and partitions with parameter
overrides on the shaders. That'll allow you to isolate copies of the ref
models
