I'm having trouble getting 2 modems to work with pppoa3, I've got modem_run to load
the firmware for both modems with no problems (with a bit of help) but when using pppd
to dial the second connection an error is put in /var/log/messages sayhing anoth
instance of pppoa3 is already running.
correction to my previous email...
the lines in the adsl peers file read
pty "/usr/local/sbin/pppoa3 -c -m 1 -d /proc/bus/usb/003/002 - vpi 0 -vci 38"
and in the other file
pty "/usr/local/sbin/pppoa3 -c -m 2 -d /proc/bus/usb/003/003 - vpi 0 -vci 38"
the second file has the option -m 2 and no

Linux = RH9.0 fresh install
ISP = club-internet france (pppoA ? )
Modem = green Speedtouch USB
First method = not OK ===>
Use just "adsl-setup" and "adsl-start".

Try removing stale runfiles and killing all instances of pppoa3 before
rerunning modem_run:
rm /var/run/pppoa3-modem*.pid
ps wax | grep pppoa3 | grep -v grep | cut -b 1-5 | xargs -i kill -KILL {}
(There should be a trick to exclude grep from the ps output, but I forgot
