Hello,
I'm a Linux newbie and I found the How-To extremely helpful (and much easier
than the other How-Tos), however I am not sure how to properly disconnect.
Currently I use the command killall pppd but this apparently doesn't close
it fully because when I shut down my
problem. I did a grep on
/proc/bus/usb in etc and found the script that did the mount at boot time
and copied that line into reconnect. It took me about three iterations to
get it working.

Ok here's my setup - you'll need to change !!PPP-Partner!! to the ip
address of the other side of your ppp link (ie the ip address listed by
P-t-P: in ifconfig ppp0). I

Right. The explanation is very simple : if one process use the usbdevfs,
mounted on /proc/bus/usb. The file system can not be unmounted.
So the system refuses to shut down properly.
Normaly, adsl.sh stop should be enought to kill everything properly,
right?

Est-ce qu' il faut donc patcher HDLC pour Mandrake 8.0 (kernel2.4.3-20mdk)?
Je ne sais pas si 2.4.12 est plus recent que 2.4.3 .

I'm using the speedtouch driver on a Mandrake 8.0 distribution without having
modified anything to the kernel (no patches). It rather works well once started,
but a few things keep bothering me:
1. This is a log of my startup procedure:
