Just a note about the convention coming up...
The Cirque du Soleil is at the same resort where we will be, Treasure Island.
They have performances at 8 and 10 PM every night except Mon and Tues.
I'm hoping to go Wed at 10 if things work out!
I say them (different show) at Montreal a few weeks ago
I'm looking for a ride in any of the rallies or tours during the convention,
as I'll be without Triumph!
Anyone driving solo need someone in the passenger seat?

Alan,
The best description I can give is the sound you get when you shake a
spray can of paint, and the little agitator starts hitting the can.
I agree with Michael, as when I got my car (with flat tyres) I also
opted for the standard size inexpensive replacements.
Basically I looked for softer tyres so that they would hopefully grip
better and not last longer than the car. They tried to sell me 60,000
mile tyres. It was not even at t
Set points to 37 thou ( as I have the 40kv coil), timing about 12
degrees before (maybe it should be more if I am still pinking ), used a

What's your secret? With my HS2s I get only 26MPG on the highway, and

Well 1700+ miles and a week later I am back. 8 days of driving the spitfire. Major
problems were electrics ( gauges and overdrive etc.) dropped one day as a fuse holder
did not like the heat and the carb linkage got sticky and kept the idle high - of
course this in the worst traffic of the trip

Hello all,
The subject should really say trailers prior to VTR 2002.
I am towing my Spitfire to Minnesota, and will be arriving
ahead of VTR 2002 due to my attending a conference in
downtown Minneapolis. I am concerned about leaving the
car and trailer at Treasure Island, and am wondering if

That's what I want to hear - The differance is about $300 dollars! That'll
buy a compressor? Mig Welder? New seat Foams? And I'm thinking - that is
partly why I bought the car - for the experience. The schematics showing
all of the parts sure look scary though!

Thanks Richard! This is really an excellent guide. It is so much more
readable than the Haynes Guide.
After affirming that my gearbox is definitely a 3-rail and my spare a single

James,
Congratulations on getting through the MOT - I don't think I've ever got a

I found a garage where I used to live that did the same as yours. I really

Hi Ben,
Its worth looking closely at the timing as well, as it could be that the
centrefugal weights are jammed. Happened to me and gave the same symptons!

Hi All,
Thanks for the help last week with the manifold studs. Glad to report that all is

Ken,
Definitely easier to pull the transmission out on it's own, from inside the
car. This is even more true if you don't have an engine hoist. Check out

Matt,
I had exactly this problem once. It turned out that one of the little
springs in the clutch plate had broken, and a few of the bits had jammed
themselves between the two faces of the clutch so that it was permanently
engaged.
As John said this could be one of several things, but they will
To quote the Rimmers catalogue:

changes to yellow. The colour change is quite normal and does not affect
the performance of the fluid... SBF is non-toxic, virtually inert, and is
