Folks, I installed a set of Su's on my 71 and removed the Stromberg, I went through all of what yall are talking about. For the later-model Spits with the CV-joint propshafts, there was a service bulletin recommending that the shaft be re-installed with the joint in the back. The reason for this was simply that it was difficult to slide the bigger end of the shaft up the tunnel without getting stuck. I doubt that

Here is another symptom: If the horn works when the key is NOT in the ignition, but it has problems when you are actually driving, the cause is almost certainly that little grounding strap on the flex joint. When you have the key out of the ignition, the bolt of the steering lock will ground the
