My sql clauses are generally very simple. I'm using no triggers, etc.

Hou can try libsql as a component for Delphi (more of a wrapper). I have
used it so far, but only for sqlite2.8.x. I don't have much programming
experience, but to date I have not had any real problems using sqlite as a
database.
