How do I check what version of Perl is installed?
You'd need to ssh into it. From my records it looks as if it should
still be using Perl 5.8... Which is about the oldest we ever supported :-).
How Linux literate are you? Would you be able to edit a file on the disk
once logged in to it?
O
Problem persists with all of the plug-ins removed, d'oh.

I can confirm when I add the command line option "-b 2:6" - the
files plays OK. It looks like ALSA is unable to play the 325.8KHz
stream unless it has big enough buffers for high sample rate streams.
This may be specific to my setup when my USB DAC can only go up to 96kHz
and ALSA will
So is there a version of LMS that works with Catalina “out of the box”?
Depends :-). I think all recent builds do if you have your music in
~/Music. But if you're using an external disk or something you'll have
to do some tweaks as outlined here.

Hi Michael,
I am running the latest firmware from Netgear but that's a least a
couple of years old by now. Haven't been able to find a newer version
than RAIDiator 4.2.31.
I think this NAS has been unsupported for quite some time by now.
How do I check what version of Perl is installed?

Just to clarify.
With the problem file first - I see alsa being opened with 44100. It is
possible that the stream has not been started and this is just the
standard opening of the output device. So the problem si whether stream
has been started or not OR The stream has been started and the alsa

With same LMS, I've gone back to squeezelite 1.9.6-1207 and I get the
same issue - alsa opened with 44100 instead of 3528000.
As I have never heard a file play without LMS resampling I don't know
whether my setup would actually play the file.
So I don't know whether I'm chasing the real proble

Try different version of squeezelite rather than LMS. I wonder if it is
related to native support of ogg/flac.

However, I did lose the graphical interface, but not functionality, from
my current SqueezePlay install. It can be operated via the LMS web
interface for now.
There's an updated Squeezeplay available which fixes this issue.

At a guess, sample rate is retrieved from decoded audio data, for first
file played - this value is not getting to alsa_open routine.
But how would LMS be involved in this? I haven't tested it yet, but I'm
having a hard time to believe that this would be a server side change...

Safe mode would disable all plugins. What plugins are you using?

Well when I don't see these errors I'm able to navigate the Music

The thread's subject line says "Music Folder empty". This has nothing to
do with the error you're posting, has it? After all you seem to have
been able to navigate down several folders?

The scan completed and the music folder populated.
When I restart the server normally I get the same errors, any idea what
to try?

I restarted the server in "safe mode" and am scanning again, so far no
errors. So its a problem with one of the plugins? I'll paste the list
here after the scan completes.

Thanks for the response.
I'm seeing a bunch of "file missing" errors even though they are present

setup LMS on a new system). I just tried a rescan and see a bunch of
these errors. The missing files appear to be kinda rando
At the moment it looks like LMS having received the GET - LMS just stops

I need to do a bit more digging - but short cut would be any thoughts on
what LMS changes in last 4 months could have done this ?

Thanks for the info. Can one can revert back to 7.9.3 from 8.0?

LMS sends some data to player and then stops. Looking at slimproto
response buffers gets filled & I think all the buffers are full.
Maybe LMS stopped sending because buffer are full or because although
threshold reached, LMS has not told player to start playing.
