This is bound to be a bit confusing, but "aptitude" is not the same

Yes - it shows there's a perl task using 80-200MB while the server is
trying to start.

Probably is better to update the pointer in the latest too?
"latest" is the latest released version. "stable" is the nightly build
of the stable (8.3.x) branc

one with Apple silicon support doesn't start on my Intel Mac Mini.
According to the log file it's running perfectly fine. What made you

Ah, OK, I have always used dpkg and didn't realise that apt could be
used to install a local file... Hopefully I'll remember when it comes
to 8.

Running latest lms on a docker on Synology 920+
Even checking box to show unsupported plugins, screenswitcher is not
shown anywhere.
Should it?
Is it only available to be installed manually?
Is it correct that it needs to be installed on the lms first before it
can be added as an appl
I think you should try putting the files onto the QNAP using WinSCP
instead of Windows then check and change the permissions as necessary,
rescan and see if LMS can find them.
Also try different versions - flc, mp3 etc
