Definately louder, but still I find the stereo perspective more tidy,
and I find myself being able to tell instruments apart more easily (e.g.

to be a less aggressive sound. W

Is indeed connecting to mysb.com directly. Tested: Result OK - *I am now
receiving FLAC from Tidal*.

There's a menu in the Tidal app on your device which lets you choose the
quality.
I forgot to mention the obvoius ;-)
Unfortunately that doesn't change to flac-files for me.
What LMS version are you running? What exact build (see
Settings/Information in the web UI)?

I've not been able to get FLACs. Everything comes in 256 mp3. Have tried

I've had a set-up with SBT streaming FLAC from Tidal via the official

I have tested with a different LMS instance, same MSB and Tidal
accounts, on a different Antipodes server and it works OK, sets the FLAC
option and plays FLAC OK. I have asked Sailor Boy to test in his
system.
Many thanks for your work on this Michael!

I just run a few tests here, and I haven't had any problem switching
back and forth between mp3 and flac.
Ok, I think I've found the source of the problem: your LMS' user agent
token was triggering the mis-behaviour. I've applied a change which
should fix this. Could you please give it another
tonyd/sailorboy - as both of you are using the same kind of streamer,
could you please try to use another LMS instance for a test? Just set up
LMS on your computer, configure it to use your mysb.com account, connect
your device to it and try to play Tidal content. Would it fail to play
flac, too?
I tested this again today, and no change to the situation with the Tidal
plugin still playing MP3s.
Is there any progress on the diagnosis of what could be causing this
issue?
I've been on vacation. Will try to pick up work on the issue asap.

As this is not an official build number, how do you install LMS? Do you

Hi Michael,
Ha, we are not the same person. I am the support
Sailorboy, tonyd,
can you tell me what you're running your LMS on? How did you upgrade?
What version?
You're not the same person, are you? There's an interesting level of

I am just confirming that I also still have exactly the same issue, all
Tidal music for my HIFI subscription playing as MP3!

I have been looking into this issue for a customer who uses an Antipodes
Audio server running LMS 7.9.1 on Linux Fedora 24. The Tidal plugin on
my Antipodes server played Tidal HiFi tracks as expected, showing as
'1414kbps VBR, flc'. However I then clicked the 'My Apps/Tidal/Streaming

Ahh, thats in the myapps bit. Yes, I have never set it to MP3 only, but
I have selected the FLAC/MP3 option to make sure that it was set that
way, assuming that would be the only way to ensure I got FLAC.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Hi Michael, I am not aware of any setting in mysb.com where you can
disable flac streaming? I just had another look, and I cant see any
setting like that?
Are you able to show a screen
Did you _ever_ disable flac streaming in the TIDAL settings on mysb.com?

I have recently upgraded to LMS 7.9.1
Dang! I never knew that track info was availableso it does seem to
be streaming in FLAC after all.
I'm going to spend some time in the Squeezepad forum and website to see
what ELSE it will do!
Thanks Michael!

To your point, I'm not for sure that it's NOT FLAC. I'll have to get
iPeng and try it out to see what it says.
No need for iPeng: just bring up the track information menu from the Now
Playing screen (the title bar on the Touch or similar).

Good points.
When I log in to the TIDAL site or use their app, it definitely says
HiFi user, and does stream FLAC. I just don't know at that point (or
how) LMS uses my login info, although it must.
It SHOULD come up FLAC, but when I first signed up to TIDAL, I
didn't sign up for HiFi level,
Are you sure you aren't getting the FLAC stream? I believe that
statement is just a disclaimer just in case you do not have a HIFI
subscription but were expecting FLAC. I use the Ipeng app and it
reports I am streaming the FLAC version of Spoon's album Hot Thoughts
