This particular patch is only for changes to Makefile.am at present:
- building the error pages from .po when 'make dist' or 'make all'
(new to errors/) or 'make
... (why isn't gmail obeying my reply using From: matching the
original mail destination? grr.)
I mean, the -eventual- aim, not the short-term aim?
The talk on C++ bindings caught my eye. I'm curious about the eventual
goal with all of this stuff.

And also character encoding.. There is still parts of the world not
happy with UTF-8 for one reason or another..

I believe the last build bugs are gone from the dist, install, and
uninstall requirements.
The absence of translated file removal from distclean target is
intentional. That is only performed on re-translation.
The purpose of this patch:
Add the ability for distribution time creation of the
