Maybe the request finishes before the client station identd responded.
Squid does not wait for the ident lookup to complete unless required by

My doub is if DG can auth users like Squid using NTLM.

Hi everyone,
I am experiencing a strange issue that is more than likely a
configuration error. I have a FreeBSD(6.1) box running Squid 2.6(9)
connecting to a Cisco 7206VXR running IOS 12.4. Everything appears to be

identifier". I don't remember the exact rules it uses for selecting the
"primary IP", but I guess it's either the interface having

Finally, and most embarrassing to admi

I am running #2 and it works fantastic. My thought is the fewer
components invovled, the less there is to break.

The cache_dir type. Look into replacing it with aufs, to "avoid
blocking the main Squid process on disk-I/O."
Done.
Another pitfall is the small amount of
memory the server has, and the large size of the disk cache. See

Then it should work..
unfortunately I don't have an NTLM enabled server to test with at the
moment so I can't help much further.

I did. I kind of remember seeing a report that IOS reported this odd
message when there was a mismatch in the return
