The Accucraft C-16 that Harlen Barr had at my last steam-up was most
impressive. It pulled a good train and ran 4 complete laps or about what we
figured was near 2000 feet 1 boiler fill.
I could not beleave how smoothly it ran at slow speed. Good as, perhaps
better than an electric!

That sounds real good. Now to wait for a shipment. I am a newbie to the

Chris,
I agree with you on the Iver's appearance and price.
The oscillating cylinders and complete lack of cosmetic detail do make it
somewhat resemble a Mamod. IMO, it also doesn't appear to loan itself too
well to kitbashing either. Certainly not as much as most of the other lower
end
Does anyone know who entered it in the weight lifting contest? I do not
remember it and it should certainly have jogged my memory, unless it was when
Trent and those Clydesdale ladies were cavorting about and I was
distracted
Keep your steam up!

Hi Walt,
Who, me? Cavorting with young ladies? Surely you have me mixed up with Carl
Malone or Jesse Grimmer. grin
I have serious doubts that an Iver could have outpulled locomotives like a
Mikado or Sony Honneger's locomotive. Perhaps there are separate classes for the

I intend to buy Lady Anne from Roundhouse. I would
prefer her with an inside frame so that I can see the
complete wheels. Besides, I would like to see the
excess steam to exit through a whistle soldered onto
the safety valve. Has anyone experience with these
modifications and could refer me to
I have never heard of anyone doing this. A whistle is a restricted outlet
and putting one on the exhaust of a safety valve defeats some of its
effectivity. The safety valve serves an important purpose and better left
alone to do its job. Besides you could have an annoying constantly
whistling

Matthias,
Although it certainly could be done, I doubt the cost could be
justified. Everything from the top of

You may want to just think about opening up the frame some. You may
have to attach some structural support if you take away too much though.
If this is your first foray into Live Steam, a lot of people try the
Accucraft Ruby 0-4-0. It is fairly cheap, has a simple stephenson type
valve

Would you reconcile the claim in the current Live Steam magazine that Iver
won at Diamondhead versus the report which
I'm sorry the results posted were for the St Louis convention NOT Diamondhead.
Hope there isn't too much confusion.

Peter,
I personally still think that the overall appearance and construction of
Iver is just too plain to justify the $700 price. (my opinion only)
I did scrounge up the Wrap-Up e-mail of the 2001 DH event from Jerry

I meant to send this to the List but it appears for some reason it returned

Hello,
I was going to ask back when the National Summer Steamup was taking
place, but it slipped my mind until I was cleaning out some notes just a
few moments ago.
When the pictures were posted during the event, there was a picture
