Butane valve

Butane valve is leaking. Someone suggested squirting WD40 into the valve to "lubricate it". Considering all the WD40 chatter...is this a good idea? Does the valve have seals that WD40 might soften or gum up? Gary Eugene, Oregon http://community.webshots.com/user/raltzenthor
