Gary,
Please pass the message job well done to your friend Ted. I'm curious
for details about the RH/Porter's steam turret and piping.

Uh, yup, Ted has more lines than I have ever seen on a small engine.
One feeds a line to heat the tender water tank. It is a simple steam line
that just drizzles out into the water tank after coiling around the tank.
There is an injector that only works marginally. A valve lets extra water
out

cool. it looks like he built a water reservoir into the tender and
has a pump that feeds water into the boiler on the fireman's side up
Hi All.
Sorry for the double posting.
I recently acuqired a Maxwell Hemmens live steam Porter - gas fired 0-4-0
tender engine from the Robert Head collection auction.
This came with no documentation, in the way of instructions etc. and I
would like to get a copy of the original instruction

This may possibly be correct. Nevertheless I have known several people
who are very unhappy about their dealings with this

Tony,
I have no need to hang John Hemmens by a sour apple tree
necessarily, I have never met the man, and it may very well be
Tag, are you sure this is what you mean?
John Hemmens is now not legally able to run
a business in the UK.
..or is he barred from being a Company director?
Mike
needed to be very successful.

I wrote to Yesteryear Toys and asked about the Porter. this was their
reply:
The Porter was a prototype model and has not been scheduled for
production. The locomotive models currently available are located
under the Yesteryear Toy Shop section. Thank you for your time
and interest.
Too bad
Chuck who reports that the
Porter locomotive which started all this is in fact not currently available
for distribution and sale. This has a strangely familiar ring to it. You
could say but that's not a John Hemmens deal, but I would have to say
right back if it walks like a duck and quacks like
Speaking of Porters, has anyone any comments about this new Porter?

You should know that Maxwell Hemmings (USA) cesed
It's interesting that the 'blurb' written underneath the engine in the
Yesteryear website says production to begin in early 2000. Do they mean
2002 or did this project never get off the ground? I see a very distinct
resemblance to the Hemmens Porter in the picture also ;)

This is in every visible way (except the paint) a Maxwell Hemmens

I know about google, but the question couldn't be answered there in 10 pages
of return. So is there a magic repository of Porter blueprints like there
is for other builders? Or will I have to find one reasonably close to me
and mount a measuring expedition?
