I have met Tom Cooper and I have two of his locos which run well-one with
much work (Your help Tag) and one with none. These locos have been in my
possession for 17 and 13 yrs respectively. Tom can be a little "abrasive"
but he has done much for the hobby as far as I am concerned

If you look very closely, the gear covers - and presumably the gears
themselves - are on the outer ends of the trucks. Ho Hum!

Hi Mike,
The Steamlines Shay I have fought with and at least partially won has the
drive line bevel gear at the forward end where they mate with the axle bevel
gear.
If you notice, the close up of the trucks and gears just below the photo
with the trucks and boiler, show one truck with forward gte

Did anyone notice that the gears are back to front on the trucks? Are all
Steamlines Shays made like this? Enquiring minds need to know.
