Harry, Royce, et al, To prevent further confusion about the degree symbol ( ° ), it will only work on the keypad, not the numbers across the top of the keyboard above the letters. Being a CAD guy myself, I understand how Harry knew the trick, but I had never thought to try it in e-mail sinc

Well, Trent, my thinking was that the desired thread was an ME thread, and my single point tool was a 60 deg and I wasn't sure that ME uses a 60 deg thread form. i just set the tpi equal and didn't go the full depth so that if the thread form was not the same, it wouldn't matter. And I also wasn

Hi listers. I just turned an arbor to .1875, pre chased a 40 tpi thread to about .009 deep (final is about .013), used a 3/16-40 ME die to "clean up" the threads and the final diameter turned out to be about .175. The die is a split die but had no "reducing" screw. Just a chamfer on the outer e
