Dear fellow shadow-watchers,
I have been told about a book entitled:

Hi all,
In my recent email I suggested that the colour picture of two
ancient Eqyptian Sundials in Mark Lennox-Boyd's book were sourced via

Surely the whole business of finding the solstice is like a slower analogue
of finding noon by observing solar altitude?
Just around noon the altitude changes extremely slowly, and it is hardly
possible to judge the time of maximum altitude exactly. Here, today, noon
is at 12:04:49 but even if w

Tex,
The short answer is no.
For dials that have a gnomon that points at the North star, the EOT
correction is done by rotating the dial face around that shadow casting
edge of the gnomon. For your horizonal dial, imagine a rod welded at the
top edge of the gnomon. The ends of the rod are supp
