You shouldn't run into problems doing a direct copy, assuming you
change the four ports mentioned in freenet.ini. You will simply have
multiple instances of freenet running, each accessible via it's own
http port, each accessing it's own udp data pipes/local sockets. I

I just learned about freenet today and downloaded it. I can't access anything. For intance, when I click on 'freedom', it says to change hops-to-live: 13, which I did. It then says to "reseed the node". I don't understand that. As a last resort it says to contact you.___

Hi,
I was having a look around the project - comparing it to frost and there is one glaring (and I hope simple) idea which will make things easier for us users.
It is in two parts ... the first is the download of the java 1.5 and installation - along with freenet for 1.5 ...
The other is

I've stopped trying to get the current (read "unstable") cvs of freenet

Above statement gently nudged into reality.

Oh come on, just admit that shuffling arbitrary files around like that is
begging from trouble. Your obstinance is like, so totally misguided, and

fraid that I'm pretty sure that you're talking about a different

This Freenet isn't like AOL, RoadRunner, etc. in providing Internet
