Thanks for the good advice, Darryl! The plastic bottles are a great idea.
My toilet (with its wall-mounted tank and separate commode) is the
same age as my house. So far I have kept it going with brass wire
and, fortunately they are still available, replacement flappers.
However, the commode n

bandwidth and permanent clutter in the archives.
That's this stuff:

simple, no odours. This raises an issue everyone seems to have missed
so far - water isn't the only problem with flush toilets. The other
problem is with what's flushed - waste disposal. What a term. Try to
find such a thing i

Unfortunately, the relatively recent availability of efficient
toilets has (at least in my area) apparently affected only new
construction. I don't know anyone who has change

I am on a 1100 gal cistern(I haul water 7-8 miles if had 30k would
drill well)have been on it since 98 next year I will pipe my shower
and washing machine into a separate tank(figure payback is about year
in water savings) and use a clear water pump and electric float for
the toilet be
That's unnecessary. As a female in the US without a bidet, I can
assure you that not all of us flush after each use.
Even at the home of my sister who is married to an
anti-environmentalist, they only flush on solids. Liquids and
associated paper are accumulated until that time. I do the same
