First of all, F8 doesn't work unless you are using a program that makes
use of browse mode, such as Thunderbird, or IE. You need to use your
arrow keys along with the shift key to select your text, or ctrl-a to
select all, then ctrl-c to copy to clipboard, then ctrl-v to paste in to

F8 works in WLM. I copy and paste exactly the same way that Grant says.

Hi all,
I am using Windows 7 and Window Eyes 9.3. How do I copy and paste from
notepad? F8 doesn't work. When I use Control I think that it pastes, but I
can't get it from the clipboard. Please help. Thanks.

Hi Paulette,
To copy with Notepad, simply select the text you want to copy by going
to the beginning and holding down the shift key while you arrow through
to the end of the text. Then, press control plus x to cut it or control
plus c to copy it. Move to where you want to paste the text and
That's the only way you could make it say it? If it has to be on with
characters for that, I guess I can do without it. Pam.

I have used the MP3DirectCut for editing audio files in the past. It is
a quite easy piece of software, and does a fantastic job on the areas it
covers, such as cutting, pasting and splitting or joining MP3 files. It
does not, though, have any noise reduction features, or any other sound
Window-Eyes and WLM are fickle here. If you turn browse mode on, you may be

Sometimes, when pressing keys, you only get the Invalid Key Press

Occasionally, I have had things like this happen. When they do, a reload of
Window-Eyes or a reboot fixes them. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often.

Hi David,
And you're so right.
With all the heavy traffic on this particular list, I'm really sorry to have
diverted its attention.
It certainly won't happen again.
With regrets,

Yes. My problem with the f8 is that it will copy to the clipboard, but it
will not paste into internet explorer. I know that it copies, and I can
paste it into note pad, but I can't paste it into internet explorer. If I
try the old copy and paste, it doesn't talk while I'm selecting. Pam.
Well, we'll see how it goes in this short message, but yes, I, at times
do get to the point where many lines become impossible to read, and when
this happens, I take to copying and pasting the message text to NotePad
and then writing the rest there, then pasting the message back into the

Hi Paulette,
There is a very easy way of copying text in notepad, Word, Wordpad and
the like using a WE app called, select text. By default, I think it
also uses the F8 key combination so you would need to go in and change
the hot keys. I use F9.
Go to the start of the text to be
