Do make sure that you put Chrome into full screen mode when you enter a web
page. You can do that by pressing F11.

You should give Waterfox a try. Not sure how well it works with Window-Eyes. It
is a simple browser that uses the same commands as Firefox. Just type in the
word Waterfox and you should find the free download easy enough.
Hope this helps.

I am a long time user of JAWS. A lot could be done to improve its usability.
Sadly, in recent times, the opposite is true. In many instances I find the
JAWS curser as a means of reading a screen just about useless. Instead, I
now invoke the touch curser which I find will get me to information not

I have a friend who recently installed the Microsoft 365 package on her
computer. She has also installed the free version of Window-Eyes which
should give her a fully functioning version of the programme. However, it
will only run in Demo mode. Is there a way to correct this short of
reinstalling.
Hello Sky.
I have listened to both podcasts, and would not be optimistic about the
survival of Window-Eyes.
I found very little about either podcast to give me even the smallest twinge
of excitement about what will be new in JAWS 18 either. Audio Ducking would
seem to be the revolutionary new idea
Don't upgrade to Version 9. It is not accessible with screen readers. The
new security feature, e.g. the added level of security when banking, is not
yet useable with screen readers.

Like many others on the list, I am sorry to see Mark go. He is a very
knowledgeable and helpful person. Will he be replaced? I have my doubts.
Rather, it might well be the first move in a decline of further development

Hi Yusuf,
Go to the View menu, down arrow to Layout, right arrow to folder pain, press
the space bar and make sure normal is checked. Sometimes Outlook seems to
change this to off.

The thing that worries me, is not the possibility that there might be less
choice of screen readers in the future, but that we will still have to
purchase a screen reader at all. If a company like VFO has acquired the two
largest screen readers in the assistive technology market, what does that

There has been a lot of talk on the list recently about upgrading to Windows

I believe that's a View setting and I'm guessing instead of a message count,
you see the words "Filter Applied". The default IMAP account view in Outlook
