As far as I know, highway=bus_stop predates the public_transport=platform tag.
So using public_transport=platform is the ''new and better way" of
tagging bus stops,
the data consumers just haven't cached up yet.

I changed all the public_transport=platform nodes I worked on recently back
to highway=bus_stop. And hurray, they are rendered once again now.
Since I used a slightly larger bounding box than Belgium, I couldn't help
but notice that there are quite a few stops in Aachen which also only have

it and announce it on the language/country specific lists.
Who reads that blog anyway? I hadn't even heard of it until you mentioned

But I am very reluctant to use redirects to compensate mistakes.
In this case it's obvious that the original URL (and name!) should be corrected.
