The latest beta changes a Japanese-language IMAP folder name, by adding extraneous characters at the end. Trying to fix it produces an error.
Here are screen shots of the affected folder name, in Thunderbird and in The Bat.

many problems still exist for the program to be useful to me, even
though I have foolishly purchased it three times over. Thunderbird, a
free program, has none of the above problems, by the way.

incoming messages (moving
them from the Inbox) when they arrive, but the other sorts only if I
actually move the cursor to the Inbox. The messages do show up on the
ticker, however.

I have a serious problem posting Japanese messages in The Bat! Even
though I have chosen Japanese (JIS) as the character set, the
header information always shows: Content-Type: text/plain;
charset=us-ascii.
As a result, many email clients, including The

when new mail window opens, I change the charset to JIS. If I
