Meanwhile I found out more about this: The Bat disconnects (claiming that the server ended the connection) whenever the message to be uploaded exceeds 2 MB. I checked the IMAP server for such a limit: There is none! Thunderbird uploads the bigger messages with no problem, it's TheBat that is
