One more thing...
Some of the older 5045 modules had badly implemented hardware handshaking on
the RS-232. Sometimes it helps to wire RTS to CTS in the connector of your
RS232 cable which attaches to the cesium module. In any case, it never
hurts.

Hi Folks,
does anyone of you have a clue what a fail on self test #2 in a HP 3325
synthesizer really means?

I do not know what you mean by really means, but self test #2 tests the
amplitude calibration of the square wave output according to the manual.

My 3325A often shows an amplitude calibrate fail at poweron, but if I
wait a few seconds and then hit the cal button, it passes. Not sure if
that's the same thing as you're seeing or not.

Hi Folks,
thanks for your extreme fast and precise answers! From these i follow
that a 3325 showing this error is out of calibration concerning it's
square wave output or the square wave output may be totally out of order
at worst. That is everything i need to know!
Thank You
Ulrich, DF6JB
I'm guessing that in my case, the unit just needs to warm up or
otherwise stabilize a little bit before the calibration routine can succeed.
