Of interest, certainly. But judging from the credulous, entirely
uncritical account of the fantastic tale of Amal

A 5 year old living in an apartment in Siberia without heat? Did the dogs and
cats bring her food too? Seems pretty unlikely.

I hate that backgroup "dramatization" music also Beth. But relative to
the "barking like a dog," I read a book about Mother Teresa and her care
of so-called "trash-bin" babies. These were children who were literally

Sometimes common, everyday logic does need to be abandoned, especially if a
strong confirmation bias means failing to consider possible, if less likely,
alternatives. I doubt that anyone was questioning the fact that the
treatment that Genie received would make any normal child abnormal.

There's also a sort of cheesy video I have showing a Russian girl who barks
like a dog - a little suspicious - and some mentions (and photos) of Indian
children who were feral. I forget the source...I've never shown the video
in class because it's just not documented, and of course it as the usual
There is a Nova program on a girl (called Genie) allegedly kept in a closet
throughout her development. It is titled "Secrets of the Wild Child". I believe
there may have been a follow-up program as well. The facts about her history
are unclear and whether or not her disabilities can be attribut
