When my wife first came down with TM, back in San Francisco, 1997, one of the
first questions asked by the doc was had she been out where there are ticks
carrying Lyme's disease. No, she hadn't. I've read somewhere that Lyme's
is a bif suspect in CNS events.

I found out 2 yrs ago, 9 years post tm onset that Lyme's is the root
cause of my tm---99.9% sure. I'd had a bout with Lymes 8 years
earlier, felt like I had gthe flu, ached all over, feet hurt to
walk...took the doxycyline for 3 weeks, all better, or so I thought
til 8 years later. Lymes
I have read that ,,asked my neuro about it and he told me that was something he
checked for and ruled out.
thats what he said.
he might be right
he might be wrong
thus rendering the term idiopathic

it is a fearful thought that something that happened to us years ago can cause

I found out
Neurology Now ( free sub) has an article on TM in its Oct/Nov 2011
issue focusing on Allen Rucker.
Kevin Sorbo is on the cover.
I was glad to see the coverage!
I was surprised at the picture of Rucker. I've told my friends who
send me vids about a tell , that I use to assess whether the
after they asked me about the flu shot, they asked me about bug bites.
I did a lot of tromping around, gathering weeds for papermaking and gardening
before TM struck,
A Lyme sufferer told me theat most Lyme goes undiagnosed and unrecognized
and suggested that my idiopathic TM might be Lyme's.
I had a very, very mild case of TM but it persisted. Stupidly I did not go
to the doctor immediately but waited for weeks and weeks. I was asked the
same questions...vaccines, bug bites...this was before I was actually
diagnosed with TM. I was also rather surprised that my neurologist actually
AGreed!
And my TM struck twice -- I walked away the first time after a long
weekend in the hospital and the second time -- a month later -- i was
knocked down. I suspect that the steroids left me open to
greater attack from the unidentified underlying cause.

Re: [TMIC] shingles vaccineI had open heart surgery three years ago and have
had a flu shot every year since with no problems. I have also had shingles this
last year and I would take the vaccine in a second to avoid getting them again!
TM attacked me over 13 years ago, it isn’t attacking me
