After putting my conclusions here and a 2 1/2 hour power outage I had an aha
moment and found I did not account for 40 db properly.
The dipole without a preamp in the same location is just a few db higher
than the Waller with preamp and would not produce the signals I was
thinking of.
Lee
would pick up noise as
well but I would think it would not be of an equal S-9 level.
Where did I go wrong in these figures. I must be astray somewhere.

Hi we just got QRV on 160 right before the SP and noticed AM BCI at 1800 kHz
and every 9 kHZ up from there. Since 9 kHz is the BC channel spacing here I
suspect two adjacent stations are mixing. Somehow somewhere. Maybe
elements to make
the array flat. You must place them at ground level for each element.
Lee K7TJR OR
Ground: the area I have where I can put either a 4 sq tx array (this is for 80
by the way) or a possible 8 element (113’ diameter) RX array slopes from one
corner upward another 15’ over ~330’. Is
hear as many DX signals in my location with a low
horizontal as you would with verticals. I am pushing 200 countries on 160
having only used vertical receiving arrays.
Or put up both as one can never have enough low-band receiving antennas.

It seems to me and I may be wrong but dont you get the tilted ground answer
just by tilting your vertical elements with respect to ground in Eznec?
From what I see with doing that the take off angle mostly follows the ground
with
at least 1/4 wave or less vertical antennas.

not as lossy as the more multi-element controllers and so has a better noise

Jack,
As the all band demand would increase the load from a 100 users to
thousands, I guess it would be up to the system capacity and if the
antennas are capable of the bandwidth requirement at one given moment
without compromise. Maybe it would be done by subscriptions with
Paul you might want to be careful just shorting the
receiver input. This would also put a short on the
output of your preamp. This would have the preamp
blasted with RF from your TX while trying to feed a
short. My guess would be you could destroy
preamps doing this.
