Wow - I joined this group to help me with top band dxing, not to see personal
insults and attacks being thrown around. I can see that every day in the
news... I will be unsubscribing.

Hi George,
I'm always looking for new ones on 160. Currently sitting at 102.

I also heard W0FLS working JA8EKM. At my location the JA was nothing but a
whisper in the noise. I could tell some other stations were in there but with
my noise level around S5 (quiet morning for me) I couldn't pull anything
out before I had to head to work. Maybe I need to get up a little
I changed my home built Battle Creek Special over to a "tee" for 160 last fall
and I feel it performs much better on 160 then the "L" of the BCS did. Due to
yard restrictions the ends of my tee's slope down a bit, one more then the
other. Overall height is approx 52' with the tee wires
Do any Alaska stations plan on operating during the QSO party? I could use AK
to finish WAS on 160m
Thanks, TomW3TA

QSB cycle, which then immediately dove into the noise not to
be heard again in the 30 minutes
before I had to go downstairs.
8’s and 9’s appeared to be hearing him. Go figure.

Observation from my little gun station in eastern PA is that propagation seems
to have moved more to the west of me, western PA, Ohio and further. Whereas for
the last two weeks or so I was hearing EU fairly well given my S5 noise level
which is quite for me.
Worked the KP2 and YL stations last
Heard you work him - congrats! Couldn't hear Luke though...

I don't know where those RBN's are but here in southeastern PA at my station I
have only heard two EU stations both during the SP contest.
I'm on every evening from about to 0200.

S9 noise here last night - More then the usual S5-S7.
Heard Roger in there and called a couple times but QSB and noise kept me from
hearing him well enough to make a contact.
Tried a couple CQ's but nothing - band seemed dead at my QTH (noisy) in eastern
PA.

Roger,
I heard you in there but QSB and noise were pretty bad at my location last
night. If I didn't know it was you I would have had a hard time making out the
call

They were really good copy here in eastern PA last night. I'm happy for all of
the EU stations that made it into the log but was a bit disappointed that they
were only working EU - while I was listening anyway, I just hope they are just
as strong when they call for NA - maybe tonight

Figures Only need a couple more countries for DXCC and my TB antenna is
down for the next couple months due to a construction project going on in the
yard. The contractor didn't want to "work around" the guy lines on the vertical
- which really were in his way - so I took the vertical
Typically I deal with S7+ noise at my station and have been stuck at 90
countries for a few years now.
This weekend I found the band to be a lot less noisy then usual (S3 to S5) and
I was able to add three new countries. I heard two other new ones HQ and KL7,
but I suppose they couldn't hear me
Dave,
Was listening to you last night work those stations. Sadly I didn't / couldn't
hear any of them - but you were nice and strong in EPA!
Just out of curiosity, what is the noise level at your station?

In my case I have been listening every night the last few weeks between 2300
and 0200 and find it hard to pick out anything due to the S7 to S9 noise levels
at my QTH. Not even worth calling CQ if I can't hear anything. I may
experiment with a receive antenna this year but I don't live
I'm using a Battle Creek Special. I had plans to make some form of compact RX
antenna - no room for long wire antennas here - this fall, but other things got
in the way

I must be in a black hole as I have listened every night this week and heard no
EU. Probably doesn't help I have an S7 to S9 noise level
though
