Tim; Sorry for the inconvenience, but can you try re-downloading and
install again? The error messages, and our inability to reproduce the
error, indicate that the install files were corrupted on download.

Hi Chimezie,
good point - I had observed this problem in the past as well. I will
add such an option to a future release.

Hello Scott.
Sounds good. That works, Thanks! One comment though:
I noticed the query that gets sent to the endpoint still includes the
FROM statement. For some services this might be problematic since
they may have a 'default' behavior (like the one I was targetting)
that actually tries to fe

Not that I know of, I have never used QuerySolutionMap.
That surprises me. How do you do variable substitution (e.g. ?this)
when you build and run SPARQL queries? String parsing? Perhaps an
opportunity for me to contribute to the open source API? :-)

Thanks, Holger--that is the solution I was hoping for.

Whenever you run a SPARQL query in TBC, and give neither FROM nor
GRAPH clauses, the system will run the query over the whole graph,
including the imports. You can narrow down querying against the base
graph only using a button in the SPARQL view, or using the GRAPH
keyword. But apart from
Yes, you'll have to consult AllegroGraph (http://agraph.franz.com/)
for that. Composer is an ontology editor and AllegroGraph is a data
store back end (using RDF).

Joseph; One issue you should be aware of is qnames vs. URIs. The
":hasProperty" below is a qname for a resource in your default
namespace. To see the full URI for hasProperty, open the property in
Composer and go toggle between Name and URI.
Given that, when you import files, a namespace prefi
Hello. I am running a problem when I try to query an owl file with
several other owl files imported into it. I need it to go through the
main file, as well as all of the imports, but am unfamiliar with the
syntax for it. An example would be.

Hi Arthur,
I have tried to reproduce this but it appears to work correctly to me.
I have created two files, A.n3 and B.n3 and B imports A. Then I
changed A's base URI - the system asks them to refactor B as well,
which I confirm. Then back at B, A is listed with its new base URI.
However,
Hi everyone,
Since I do not know if I am posting my query to right mail list, my
apologies if its not the right place.
I am working on making a triple store from an owl ontology & use it in my
thesis work. I am quite new to semantic web. Recently I started doing

Tim,
I think it's "dangerous" to automatically close any modified files.
The current policy is to leave them open with a (*) behind them to
indicate that they contain unsaved changes. A quick save all in the
end gives the user a better control IMHO.
But I see the underlying problem - the sy
I have found the refactoring to work as I expect - following imports,
etc. However, I would like to "second" the notion that opening
(potentially) dozens of files and then leaving them open in the editors
when the refactoring is done is at least inconvenient. It would be
great if the refactoring

I guess I misunderstood what the first pop-up was telling me--I assumed
that it could show a small list because the URI that I am changing was
only referenced in those places, which I then assumed would mean that none
of the other files would get affected, and therefore would not be opened
A little more info on this, I've added code to directly execute a query
that references the registered function instead of relying on executing
the SPIN rule via SPINInferences.run , and I'm seeing the same behavior.
When I don't use the function, the query executes correctly. However

Jim; What does your import structure look like? If some of the files
you unselected are between those you do, then they could also be

E.g. suppose you have a 'main' that imports imp1 and imp1 imports

Holger,
Thanks--my setting is already 0 for the imported files--
My point is really that I *want* global renaming; and the initial pop-up
does exactly what I want--it appears to identify which files (potentially)
need to be changed. But when I say OK, I want to refactor those files, it

Jim,
please check the following option on the main preferences page: "Also
open editors for imported files". Set this to 0 to avoid having the
system open imported files. There is also an option to suppress global
renaming across files on the Forms Preferences tab.

On Mar 31, 2009,
When I change a URI in TBC, the refactoring process kicks in, and pops up
a list of the OWL files that may need to be refactored. I can pick and
choose from this list. This is great.
However, when I press OK, TBC still opens *many* more tabs than the
selected files; potentially all available
Hi Jody,
Jena has a couple of built-in magic predicates, including list:member:
http://jena.sourceforge.net/ARQ/library-propfunc.html
You can use these within TopBraid as well, to iterate over all values
in an rdf:List.
These predicates (under a different name) may also become part of the
