This is pretty funny - Gazelle, an online electronics trade-in web site
will give you $170 for your non-existant brand-new Touch. I'd be willing
to out-bid them!

I'd like to add a question to this regarding using the Touch as the
server. Currently I use mysqueezebox.com and mp3tunes for the majority
of my music, and then switch to squeeze server on my PC which has all of
my music in case I want a track I don't noramlly play on mp3tunes. I do
find it a bit
Thinking about the Touch as my third SB in the house and to use as a
server for the others as well.
It would be in a room which doesn't have a hifi, so I would need a set
of powered speakers.
I've never done this before but do powered speakers use a significant
amount of power when not in use.

I've always found Amazon very good about notifying me if there are any
issues with an order.
Be nice if Logitech did - I've not heard a peep from them since my
order in October!
I know that software can be rather indeterminate, but this is getting
silly. Giving out
can I control both with a SB Controller if I'm sitting on my sofa, far
from the touch itself?
Your Radio can also control the Touch and the Touch can control the
Radio :)

Sorry I have not visited this forum lately so am clueless on the latest
on the Touch. So if I touch some nerves please excuse me.
Is the Touch released yet? If so how is the availability? What is the
shipment schedule if one orders today?

Well, depending how you go about it, you can use a split cable (Y-cable)
to connect to whatever speakers. Or, of course, you could go take a look
at dedicated computer speakers, which often are connected via USB to
your computer but has a mini-jack input as well.
Also, not that I think you want

Not released yet, no
^^ lovely things those Tivoli radios. If Slim Devices got together with
Tivoli to build one of their SB's into one I'd certainly buy it!
But year, also having to pay for the radio part is not really needed.
But I like your thinking :O)

In December 2009 a Logitech developer stated on this forum that the
Touch would ship in February. Later in January that same person stated
that it might be months before the Touch is released.
So take your pick.

I think I saw someone somewhere (this forum?) who had had a carpenter
make a box to match the Tivoli radio. It looked really pretty.
Okay, because you too think something like that would be neat, I have
here a google search - Active Bookshelf-speakers:
Audioengine speakers would work. I'm not sure about Swan or KRK, but
I'm sure if you contact them they'll be able to answer your question.
From Audioengine:
D*o Audioengine speakers have an auto-sleep, idle, or auto-power-off
function? Can I leave them on all the time?*
The A5's are equipped
Maybe more accurately stated as Touch's server can only stream files
that your players can play natively. Touch will stream anything that
doesn't require transcoding for a particular player.
Another notable limitation is that there is no web interface for either
playback control or settings.

Why should it be?
24/88.2 or 24/96 source material is rare.
Perhaps audiophiles care, but what other $300 devices provide your
claimed 24/192?

Touch
I will be purchasing a Duet or Touch this summer, after I relocate. But
the Touch seems 'out of touch'. I just read an early review that sums
up my feelings:

-Sounds like this $300 model could be the one-room Sonos killer we've
long been
Right. And the part in the review that says the IR remote -provides far
less detailed control than the touch screen- is completely incorrect.
The menus for the IR remote and the touchscreen are exactly the same,
except the fonts are bigger for the IR remote. So the level of control
detail is
And you can buy a controller to use with the Touch to (it controls all
squeezebox players ).
Or get an iPhone or Andriod app. or use you computer.
