Hi,
I have built my ripped library on my PC in the following manner.
Example from Explorer:
Coldplay
Coldplay - 2000 - Parachutes
Coldplay - 2002 - A Rush Of Blood To The Head
Coldplay - 2003 - Live 2003 (Expanded Japanese Edition)
In the Map folder on Squeezebox Server and open up Coldplay
I have built a diy PS for my Touch with SuperTeddyReg.
120VA transformator, rectifier bridge with fast diodes, 6800uF
Panasonic cap and then SuperTeddyReg and good cables.
IMHO there is a huge sonical difference (using analogue or digital
outputs) between delivered switched ps and well build

For Touch and Radio - there is a 3rd party (user developed) applet

I have a problem that affects my Touch intermittently.
I will start to play an Album, the display will show that the file is
playing but there is no sound output on either the digital or analog
outputs.
Any time this happens it can be remedied by...
turning the Touch off
turning the Touch back
On Touch - Settings/Advanced/Applet Installer and then uncheck
recommended Applets Only. You should now get the option to install
BBC Radio. Once installed and Touch reboots it will appear in the
Internet Radio Menu as BBC Radio

Sorry, can't spare enough hours today for that 5 min job on
I've got the same issue too. The only situation where the music folder
does not appear 'empty' is right after the (re-)installation of the
squeezebox-server software in windows. It works only however until the
computer is restarted. Then, folders are claimed to be empty again.
Access to the music
Hi, Im looking to purchase a squeezbox touch this weekend and have a
basic question.
1) Does every bit of music i listen to have to run via the pc?
Basically,i have installed a set of speakers in a room and want to link
them to the sb touch. all i really want to do then is connect to
internet
By chance does this happen when you recently switched your Touch from
MySqueezeBox.com to your local SBS server?
Several have reported this issue similar to yours, but seemed tied to
server switching as the cause.
Just a thought.

I'd suggest posting your Buffalo Linkstation question in the 3rd Party
Hardware forum on here.
That unit is even mentioned in the description of that forum so there
is likely many users of that combination in there that could help. :)

It's statements like IMHO there is a huge sonical difference that
throw many people all into a tissy. Especially what such statements run
counter to the experience of many of these people.
For online services like internet radio, Pandora, Napster, Rhapsody, etc
you do not need to have a pc running. Those services connect to the
Squeezebox via mysqueezebox.com, which acts as an intermediary for
login credentials, etc. You really only need a local server running to

Thanks a lot.
And to confirm, can i just plug in a set of speakers to the touch and
go from there or do i need an amplifier ?

You need an amp. Think of the squeezebox like a CD player component, or
a DVD player. It just provides line-level output.

I think that instead of writing about my spelling errors :) you should
just try one good linear PS with your SBT.
Than you will have your own experience and you can report your findings
here.

Another option is to use powered speakers such those made by
audioengine (http://audioengineusa.com/) and others. Well worth
considering

agree on audioengine. I use a set of A5's connected to a touch and it
is quite nice.

Thanks for the answer.
Yes I have seen that when I browse by _album_ on the Touch that they
are sorted by artist, then year, then album name.
That was acctually one of the reasons why I thought it would only be a
setting that I had been missing.
It would be so much easier to have a nicer view
Hi,
When I try and access the My Apps section on the squeezebox touch, I
get a message somewhat akin to Already registered to another user. I
thought at first it might be registered to my account (the squeezebox
is my dad's - just helping set it up for him, and I had previously

If you connect it to an SBS it will take on the account from SBS. Do a factory
reset to switch it to another account.

A bug report from 2003. Wow.
It does not seem like it's high on the priority list.
I don't undestand why this feature should be so difficult to implement.
As an example I have currently 32 Pink Floyd albums ripped and it would
be easier to handle them under artist if they where sorted by

By erase, I mean delete the song on my NAS.
For example, When I ear a song with bad quality.
I re-encode my old tape, but sometime, I have CD version.
I this case, there is not other way to do. Only listening and mark for
deletion or delete the song.
Good day.

Yesterday, I set the sleep function and this morning, I don't wake up
with the SQL playlist.
To check the link with my NAS, I stop the buzzer. I start play and it
play the SQL Playlist.
The list of improvement :
- Different duration time for each alarm
Try random song instead .
Or a short playlist 10 songs or so .
To see whats happening.
You are using erlands rather cpu intensive plugins ? (he do warn you)
On a NAS what is the spec on thta one ? cpu ram etc ?
sbs performance on playlist is not good you need cpu to load a pl with
100-1000
