It WORKS!
I now have a jive_alsa that outputs S24_3LE. Before making this public
I would like someone else to try it out. It should be someone that has
an async DAC other than the HRT streamers, that doesn't work with the
posted asound.conf file.
If you are interested in testing this please
If you use a ps that is slightly underpowered , dont try to power any
usb drives with the Touch .

Dave do you have a link or more details on this PSU?
It all sounds a little odd to me.
What is the current rating of this PSU?
Hi Phil,
Thanks for your continuing interest.
The only info that I have is that which the eBay Seller included on his

I use this as a leftover from my sb3 days the Touch psu is now powering
my SB3 .

It is rated as 2.2 amps so I gues that powering USB drive is out, but
it does not run hot at all so it has some margin in it.
So more than2 amps is probably the lower limit of

the transformer on that PSU appears to be rated at 1.65VA? so at 5V it
can deliver 330ma on each secondary...
For the Touch you need AT LEAST a 5x1.5 or 7.5VA PSU - preferably
larger.
IMO you need a much bigger transformer and more heatsinking than is
Thanks!
I use .jpg at 500x500.

Hi Phil,
Regarding what I'm listening to at the moment the signal path, as I
understand it, goes: -
FLAC files from seperately powered free standing HDD via firewire to
Vaio MM PC, then out from Vaio via
foobar2000 player will also do it.

These so called DC Power plugs (which are actually line sockets) are a
mess. There's no standardisation or anything. Look at this horrible lot:

As per title,
I'm wondering whether a backup of the Flac files on my Vortexbox on a
USB drive, would be able to work standalone with a Touch?
That is if I use the Vrotexbox to back up the files via its own
dedicated backup Gui could I then use the backup USb to drive the touch
without the
